Romney will be accepting the nomination with Mount Rushmore as the backdrop, as he, of course, is the heir to the Presidents portrayed on that historic edifice.

I have a morbid sence of humor.

Like all the other candidates dying in a plane crash.  That's pretty much the only way.

Mitt Romney's plane and Rick Santorum's plane have a midair collision and the debris lands on Newt Gingrich?

A Republican attack ad that might not be God's honest truth? Excuse me while I clutch my pearls in shock.

You know, I thought of opening the thread just to type something along those lines, but decided it wasn't worth it as I would have to crossread it to see if the joke had been done already and I couldn't bear to read the presumably inane serious replies.

The closest thing to a serious reply there is Ernest who just pointed out that by Romney's standards you can't blame Newt directly for the ad, so it's not as bad as expected.

Sarah Jessica Parker does have a face like a horse.  And bad hair.  But her body was nice enough when she was younger.  There's really no accounting for taste.  When I was in elementary school the President had a daughter my age.  Her name was Amy Carter.  I had a crush on her, even though she's rather hideous.  Profoundly so, in fact.  She looks a bit like Roger the alien in drag.

There's really no accounting for tastes.  But Sarah did have a firm, muscular ass when she was younger.  Put a bag over her head and she's not bad at all.

SJP's appeal is very urban, many people would not understand.

why is that?  because most people in the suburbs see an occasional horse or two here and there and make the connection?

I think everybody here knows every single meme.  To categorize and explain them would only send a dangerous message that we welcome new members into our community.

Does this mean Newt would be open to supporting polygamy.  Could be an interesting way to outflank Romney when the very competitive Utah primary rolls around.

I don't know about anyone else, but as someone who really hasn't had one set person to support throughout this nominating process, I find myself disgusted at the relentless attacks on Governor Romney that I see on this forum.

Newt Gingrich is clearly a candidate with baggage and that is an understatement. Rick Santorum would be acceptable to me. Other than that you have Ron Paul, who is only a "contender" because he is anti-war and for legalizing drugs. Period. All the young people I talk to who like Ron Paul are against the wars and want legalized marijuana. Period. There is nothing else. Why else would young people support a 76 year old Republican?

Governor Romney worked at Bain Capitol. Do you know how lucky any person would be to have a job like that? A career in business? I would be dancing a jig if I knew I'd have a job at a place like that. But it seems that the liberals enjoy painting "Bain" as some sort of dark and sinister corporation.

They also attacked Romney for saying "Corporations are People". Well, let me tell you something. I've been working as a waiter for a year and a half. I am one insignificant cog in the whole corporate spiral. But in a way, I understand what he means. If the corporation failed, my store would close, I'd be out of work.

But to my fellow Republicans, PLEASE, enough attacking Romney. He will be our nominee and the choice between the handout, no hard work-entitlement President Barack Obama and between a successful businessman turned Governor Mitt Romney is no contest.

Seriously, Gingrich better not screw this up.

And Santorum better not spend all his time attacking Gingrich. We already know Paul will, because he's basically just Romney's sidekick in these things at this point.

Yeah, Paul is Romney's Flava Flav. Notice that he's started wearing a giant nugget of gold on a chain around his neck and saying things like "yeaaah boyeee" after Romney speaks.

I'm mentally working toward a vast, systematic criticism of you, Al.  just realize it's only so 1) because you're one of the top 3 or so posters here and 2) it won't be out for several months,

I have to say, quite a few of the non-native speakers here can write English better than I can.

In fairness, you are an American.

Wealth is something to be admired and pursued, not vilified and redistributed. This is America, not Europe.

Romney did not inherit his father's wealth. Did Gingrich inherit his mother's health?

I had intended to post this into the Deluge with a note that I wasn't quite sure if it didn't actually belong here instead, since it's so lost in its own world that it's actually funny; but the wonkwejts closed that down.

I lol'd.  It was a fitting reply to one of the most ridiculous scenarios (and post) ever on this forum. That is saying a lot with the likes of phk and brtd around.

Unintentional:

Intentional:

It's a good thing that Ron Paul reads this forum, otherwise this thread would look a little silly.
