Imagine a slice of life TV series written by Naso.

Is it wrong that I'm picturing the thalidomide baby of Arrested Development and Azumanga Daioh as raised by late-period Li'l Abner?

It's only wrong in the sense that what the hell are you talking about

In order, what I'm imagining is something (a) tragically stunted, (b) vaguely perverse, (c) indiscriminate and plotless, and (d) dolefully reactionary.

It sounds like you just wrote a question for the SAT.

The hilarious part of this post is obvious...

I'm sitting here at 1am just outta work with some Taco Bell®  and am very pleased to see America continue a slow but sure push in a conservative direction.

I look forward to crying faces in Grant Park next fall, only this time, during a concession speech.

The fact that Naso feels the need to observe trademarks in casual internet posts?

I'll admit this made me chuckle a bit, even if it is mind-numbingly stupid:

Literal interpretation is still a form of interpretation...

Jesus:  Yo, Nathan, buddy, please pass me the salt.

Nathan:  Here you go, my Lord, here's pepper.

Jesus:  Nathan, remember how I promised to throw you in the lake of fire last?

Nathan:  Yes, my Lord, you did.

Jesus:  You misinterpreted, for the First shall be Last, and the Last shall be First!

In the movie of jmfcstverse, Jesus is played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and I'm apparently Timothy Spall or something.

And you know? I find it impossible to be offended by this.

Timothy Spall?  I havent seen any of his movies, so I'm not comprehending your reference, but glad you understood mine.

Timothy Spall has made a career of playing cowardly and odious minor villains in such films as the Harry Potter series, and also I think played Albert Pierrepoint at one point.

I havent seen any of the Harry Potter flicks, nor Lord of the Rings, nor Indiana Jones

They're all Satanic?

no, they're just not my type of flicks, they bore me....same goes for National Treasure and Pirates of the Caribbean...but at least Diane Kruger and Keira Knightley make those two movies worth watching.

Those don't really tend to be my kind of movies either, but there are some very good actors in the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings movies.

North Korea as Liberia is one of the only three countries in the world (along with the US and Burma) that doesn't use metric. I would enjoy overthrowing the corrupt government and reuniting with South Korea.

Slavoj Zizek has written extensively about "Kung Fu Panda", so I think the Star Wars prequels are fair game.

The question then arises whether the Off-Topic Forum should not aspire to more academical rigour than a Zizek book.

I agree with this.

Ditto.

Preach it.

I tend to assume that most tight elections in New Mexico were stolen, especially when the PRI wins.

Obama Average Approval Rating November 2011 (Gallup)

43% Approve

49% Disapprove

Trends for comparison:

Roosevelt: 58/37 (November 1939)

Truman: 54/33 (November 1947) AND 23/61 (November 1951)

Eisenhower: 78/13 (November 1955)

Kennedy: 58/30 (November 1963)

Johnson: 42/46 (November 1967)

Nixon: 49/37 (November 1971)

Ford: 43/45 (November 1975)

Carter: 35/52 (November 1979)

Reagan: 53/37 (November 1983)

Bush I: 55/37 (November 1991)

Clinton: 52/41 (November 1995)

Bush II: 52/45 (November 2003)

Truman was popular in the fall of 47?!  When did he start cratering to fall into the 30's by the summer of 48?

The Korean War. I'm going to guess that as the front line sagged southward so did President Truman's approval rating. The war also got increasingly unpopular as it dragged on.

Click for context

I'd like to colonize the moon with child laborers.  We could put them to work making mirrors to illuminate our streets.  That way, if any secular atheists tried to drive up to Ground Zero to build a mosque, we'd be able to catch them, and any plans they have to impose sharia law would wither on the vine.

Of course, I'd only sign onto this plan if I can go to the Moon myself to inspect the work of the child laborers.  But only if I can ride there in Moon Force One, in the front of the rocket, and we can take off from the Greek cruise ship I'll be on, where I'm doing some work for Freddie Mac as a historian, and yelling at reporters who ask me debate questions.

Yeah, that's the plan.  Call it a "Contract with the Moon".  What do you think?  Is this going to work or does it involve too much right wing social engineering?  As long as it isn't guided by a Kenyan anti-colonial worldview, I think we're OK.  Hopefully, this plan will preclude Bob Livingston from going after my job, or my having to pay any $300,000 fines for ethics violations.

Already posted. Please look 2 posts above.

Ah, sorry.

Much have I travelled in the realms of gold,
And many sickly states and kingdoms seen;
Round many ethereal islands have I been
Which bards in fealty to Romney hold.
Oft of one wide expanse had I been told
That deep-browed Gingrich ruled as his demesne;
Yet did I never breathe this unserene
Till I heard Politico speak out bold:
Then felt I like some reader of the Times
When a new candidate swims into his ken;
Or like Pawlenty when with eagle eyes
He stared at the caucus — and all his big names
Looked at each other with a wild surmise —
Silent, atop a tractor in Ames.

No word on the by-election in the Dear Leader's constituency number 333? I am looking forward to knowing which illustrious comrade the Korean People will elect to replace the very regretted Shining Star of Paektu Mountain.

Does North Korea use FPTP?

I still don't like Florence with the western edge of the state. There's not even a contiguous road connection.

Mathis has gone bezerk.

She really believes she can get away with anything.

She is a rabid, foaming at the mouth Democrat, as well as a liar and cheat.

The congressional districting proposal she supports will be struck down by the courts.

The extended family. We had two dozen people over at our place, plus a couple of babies.

Baby humans?  Those are also considered 'people' as I understand the law and custom.

Dear students, faculty and staff,

I am writing you to serve notice that Mr. jmfcst is hereby expelled from The Michael A. Naso Institute of Comedy for inappropriate self promotion. This, as you know, is a serious offense and will not be taken lightly. We would kindly suggest, in an effort to help redeem himself and possibly gain re-admittance, that Mr. jmfcst instead engage in self promotion in the Atlas Deluge of Absurdity, Ignorance and Bad Posts.

Sincerely,

Keystone Phil

I am promoting myself?!  If you haven't noticed, I refer to the jmfcst in third person...

See, this post is funnier than the one you actually quoted into the Institute.

He will be the competent president who made it morning in America again.

Are you getting paid to do this?

I believe in America.
I believe in Mitt Romney.

Thanks for answering the question.

You're welcome.

Lander's five missing precincts just came in.

They probably just made some sh**t up.

They actually replaced the lost results with votes for People Magazine's "Top 100 Sitcoms of the Last 50 Years," which explains Rick Santorum's surprise loss there to The King of Queens.

Alcon's really been outstanding this evening.

Fourmites Reaganfan and Keystone Phil
New York City, New York
July 2009

Once upon a time...
...in NYC...
...some believe around the year...
...two double aught-nine,
head priest of the Brown Santorum Clan,
Keystone Phil, was sitting with his buddy, Mike Naso...
...contemplating whatever it is
that a man of Keystone Phil's
infinite powers would contemplate -
which is another way
of saying, "Who knows?"

Posts like this are why we need jmfcst, and I now understand perfectly why he's immune from moderation. The man really is invaluable.

The best thing about that map is how a quarter of the United States population is on the moon and the overall size of the Electoral College still doesn't change.

many coincidences are not coincidences.  NY is the most gerrymanderd state in the country and any fair redistricting effort would lead to more Republican or Conservative  representation.  therefore it is not surprising that a website that was created by a very big liberal would shut down for the first time on the day that NY allowed any individual to submit a map.
