     You know, our region needs a seal since the old one was lost long ago. I was planning to open a discussion on it whenever the queue cleared out, but I'm fine with just going for that one.

     I think we should include a very brief mission statement like the goal you outlined in the initial post as a preamble to the bylaws. I agree that any further development of that should be strictly outside of the bylaws, however.

You mean Napoleon's land bill?  A blatant power grab by the Federal Government?

Now, I don't oppose the intent of the bill at all, but let the regions look after themselves!  The IDS had it's own land bill in the works before this one was drafted.  I oppose that one, but would rather see a law passed by the Imperial Legislature govern our great Region than something handed down from the feds.

Am I alone in that sentiment?

     I definitely agree. While I understand that the land bill I wrote up is probably not something that would be popular even in the IDS, I don't see the sense in sitting by while the federal government dictates what is acceptable & unacceptable for us to do with the land that we own. If they are that concerned with us putting it to the wrong purpose, they should be offering to buy it off of us, not just wringing our hands with their regulations.

     If you want to organize a similar protest in the Northeast, it would be highly appreciated.

I'll likely change my vote in the end. I merely wanted to see if this went to the court and if they overturned it due to its obvious unconstitutionality, but it may be too much of a risk to pass it.

     The court's current composition is, how shall I say, unfavorable to prospects of overturning it. My fear is that we are seeing the beginning of a new age of unprecedented federal power. Don't like what one region does? Pass a law overriding them!

     The Legislature has passed the Legislative Vacancy Act, which would boot any Darths who are truant for a full week. Let this be a reminder to everyone, announce your absences!

     The Legislature has passed the Public Notification Bill, which will require me to post these notifications from now on. Stay tuned, citizens.

     The Legislature has passed the Amendment to the Southeast Milita Initiative, expanding access to benefits for members of the IDS Militia.

     I sort of worry that the OAII Convention would be drowned out by other election activity. How about we make it two weeks before or the beginning of the month, whichever is earlier?

     The IDS Militia Structure Act has been passed, defining paygrades and pensions for the men & women that serve our region.
