Gallup did an open-ended national GOP primary poll, in which they don't prompt the respondent with any names.  Just ask the respondent to volunteer his or her own choices from memory.  Results:

I would expect Ron Paul Republicans to remember their candidate more.  Turns out his cult is smaller and more pathetic than I thought.

No, they reach the high single digits and fade back into post campaign gadfly mode.

Because 1% of the Republican Party is willing to give the maximum amount to Congressman Paul while everybody else collects $10 per person doesn't mean they are suddenly larger than 1%.

Actually, Paul got the most in total contributions in the GOP for $200 or less.

No offense, Zarn, but Paulites like you are the biggest reason I toy with getting an intrade account. I'd make a killing betting my head against their hearts over Paul's chances. Wink

I supported McCain in 2008. You can even see it on these forums.

In the primaries? I'm surprised but believe you.

That still doesn't make your assessment of Paul's chances this time any less rose colored though. Wink

The other polls are putting Paul at about 8-10% right now. 1% is way, way too low. He usually comes out 3rd, sometimes 4th among declared candidates.
