Nice work on that Wallace/Thurmond map - always interesting to compare 3rd party candidates. I knew South Carolina had less support for Wallace than a lot of Southern states, but not that he actually carried so few counties. Thurmond had a lot to do with that too I guess by his party switch and support of Nixon.
I'm not sure I realized either that Wallace took my hometown of Chesapeake VA

These maps as expected match the combined strength of 3rd party candidacies (2000>2008>2004)

I would never have guessed Nader did better than Barr in some of those states.

Nader wasn't on the ballot in either state where Buchanan won. Buchanan's best state was ND.
