Independents do not like Sen. Menendez at all, but it doesn't matter because New Jersey is a Democratic state.  In this way, Menendez will win the same way every other Democrat in New Jersey has since Bill Bradley's retirement. Joy!

Oh, Woody Johnson is actually Robert Wood Johnson IV. Heir to the Johnson & Johnson fortune and owner of the New York Jets.

He could still go down if a Democratic collapse happens in 2012.

Does NJ have horrible politicians or extremely finicky voters? Or both?

Horrible politicians and a lack of swing voters.

38% approval in New Jersey? Definitely a solid shot at re-election. Running as a Democrat during a Presidential election year? It's a lock.

Definitely both.

The GOP in NJ has been dead for years.  2006 was a great shot and Tom Kean ran one of the worst campaigns ever.

Every year, it really is the same.  Unpopular democrat running in the Senate, but no Republican can get within 10 pts.

I'm one of the biggest believers that New Jersey is a major tease for us especially in federal elections but they're dead? Are you the only person in the country unfamiliar with their Governor?

Dead.

Very compelling argument. I'm sold.
