Yeah, I guess a guy who enjoyed watching teenage girls be raped is perfectly fine if he could improve the economy. He needed to go, period, end of story, and Guevara could've done it.
Like I said in my above post, he was a horrible person and his destruction of the rights of the Chilean people needs to be punished. I'm just saying one good thing that he did. Communist would have done the same thing had they got in power. Their are rape rooms still going in Cuba I might add.

Under Batista Cuba was just a giant hellhole with no advantages unless you were one of the aristocrats, Castro overthrew him, it's still too authoritarian but at least now the education and health care systems are top notch. Castro > Batista, so Guevara's accomplishment was a scucess. We never got to see him overthrow the dictatorship in Bolivia so it's tough to see if that'd be an improvement. If you can get an improvement in Cuba though, you could definately get an improvement in Boliva or Chile.

And Adolf Hitler made the train run on time.

The improvement of education and health care in Cuba to justify Castro is NO different then the people who justify Pinochet regime because he quelled a communist take over of Chile.

Let's call a spade a spade here. Castro is a thug. Pinochet is  a thug.

But Under Castro, the Cubans have enjoyed high levels of health care and education so those things balance out the atrocities carried about the Castro regime.

that wasn't my point, my point was it was an improvement over Batista, who was just as bad and had no bonuses.

I'm not so convinced about the wonders of Cuban health care, etc. Dictoatorships can never be trusted with these things.

My opinion: Castro and Pinochet should be locked in the same cell, just for kicks. And toss the Ayatollah in there too... ;-).

I'm sure Pinochet's evil and all, but he's the most awesome dictator ever!

If O.J. doesn't go to jail or preferably die, why should Pinochet?
