Wow! That's even more surprising than the Colorado numbers.

Obama vs. Romney

Obama vs. Bachmann

Obama vs. Palin

Obama vs. Perry

Favorite Sons:

Obama vs. local favorite sons

I'm dropping this one one now, as the ones who seem to do well in their 'own' states, aside from Mitt Romney, either aren't running or don't have a chance.

What is garbage is the notion that any poll showing Republicans trailing is incorrect. Anyone who knows anything about polling knows that the top line isn't really padded by the sample, since PPP doesn't call people based partisan ID, they only ask the question.

That makes absolutely zero sense.

LOL.

You think this is a garbage poll by quoting another garbage poll ?

This sample is exactly what the current NC voter registration looks like.

PPP knows pretty well how to poll their home state, just look at their polls from there.

Read again, PPP doesn't call anyone based on partisan ID, they merely ask about it, so it's not like the sample was pre-prepared and PPP had no way of guaranteeing an Obama lead. With PPP's level of accuracy, their method clearly works, because even when sampling is questioned, most of their polls come out correct.

Is that clear enough now?

do you know the NC 2004 and 2008 exit polls to decide between the 2?

I don't like gallup poll but the party id of others states is generally good. And some republicans voters are registered democrats because they have changed their mind, but not their registration...

lol

I remember a VA PPP poll in 2009, after the thesis controversy, showing McDonnell falling (compared to their last poll). In fact, his decline was 100 % due to the greater proportion of democrats in their poll than previous... It was an outlier (wanted or not). In the next poll, with proportion of democrats declining,  MCDonnell comes back to his previous advantage and destroyed his opponent in november. Of course, the story was: thesis controversy hits Mcdonnell. Poll proves it.
PPP is a democratic and a partisan firm, ready to make push polls and others... but not stupid to lose credibility giving a fake LAST poll result.

PPP does not make push polls. It was the first to show Johnson leading Feingold in Wisconsin. And it's being showing Obama leading in NC since 2009 Wink When were they acting as a push poll? And I think PPP is the pollster with the least "outliers". I still can remember that Rasmussen poll showing Inouye in danger haaaaaaahahahaha

PPP's level of accuracy can't be disputed. They're methods aren't biased, if they were, they wouldn't have been the first pollster to show Raese up in the WV Senate race last year, even though Manchin went on to win, PPP still picked up on him being on shaky ground for a time. PPP even had a clear Republican lean last year, they gave Buck the edge in the CO Senate race, but Bennet prevailed.

I have heard that polling companies maintain databases of "Republican households" and "Democratic households" such that, if they want to, they can essentially get any result they want in a poll.

Great. Have you "heard" if that applies one whit to this poll, or even PPP in general?
