With most people, except my parent's aren't very political, so only if they bring something up to humour me.

Yes, thought it is basically always "Bush sucks!" "Hell yes!" pre-2009 and "Republicans/Tea Party suck!" Hell yes!" post-2009.

Oh yes, quite a bit. I practically thought most of my friends and classmates about the basics of  politics in a way. They always ask me what I think about issues and I talk to them about it.

I also have talks with my family about politics all the time as well, but they know most of the basic stuff

Only a little, and I avoid it as much as possible.

First option. I'm mouthy and opinionated. But I try to not impose it on people.

Yes, but living in Texas it's like I'm talking to an endless brick wall when it comes to politics....so I try avoiding the subject as much as possible.

Yes among my family and friends, but rarely at work (since my job has nothing to do with politics).

I seem to alternate between being a political lightning rod and being the liberals' favorite conservative. I try to treat everyone with respect but not really care if they like me or not. I think I've managed to affect the views of others more than they've affected mine because I can be pretty stubborn to peer pressure. My views seem to be changed more by repulsion toward people I agree with than by pressure from those I don't. I'm a bit of a contrarian and not afraid to criticize Republicans or Republican friends if I think they're wrong. I'd rather be spectacularly wrong with most things than be inconsistant.

Of course. Most of my friends are interested in politics. But, like on the forum, I rarely care enough to get upset with anyone. I usually watch my friends argue with each other and then comment on what I find comical.

Almost none. I use to have 2 friends who I would discuss politics with. One was Conservative the other liberal, we would just casually discuss it nothing serious. I really only like to talk politics with close friends. I really don't like to offend people or get into an argument with people.

Some.

I have a few colleagues with who I discuss politics and policy.  And I have an uncle who loves discussing politics.

I generally don't discuss politics with neighbors, and I generally avoid discussing politics with strangers, unless I'm at a political event.  And I don't go out of my way to drag friends into such discussions if they don't seem interested in, or inclined to discuss, politics.

If it comes up, if it's in the news or if I'm involved in Conservative Party/LGBTory stuff.

Not really. If someone brings it up, maybe, but I'm not really that passionate about politics. I'm interested, but if I went around bringing up transport policy or whatever all the time I probably wouldn't have any friends.

I've had several occasions when I've brought up politics with someone I thought I knew well and started getting a lecture about the need for a proletarian revolt to seize the means of production, which is pretty shocking to me because it's the 21st century.  It's a good sign to never talk to said person again.

Is it now?

I'd certainly not find such a person more annoying than 90% of the political discussions I'm forced to overhear. Certainly preferrable to the sort of non-thinking, instinctive 'latte' left you find a lot in certain University departments' student corps.
