I didn't include:

Ron Paul
Herman Cain
Rick Santorum (on verge of dropping out)
Newt Gingrich (seems to continue to falter)

Not a Republican, so I didn't vote in the poll (but I will vote in the Republican primary next year)- but certainly one of the Mormons. I don't know if I'd vote for them in the General, but I want competent opposition to Obama. Considering how bad things could get, the last thing we need is a nutjob like Bachmann or Cain who just might do the unthinkable and win.

If you vote in the Republican primaries next year, you might as well vote in this poll.

Your fingers slipped, and accidentally typed "Newt Gingrich"?

Not too uncommon.  Hit your keyboard randomly a few times and see for yourself...

By "serious" he means establishment types being pushed on us.

I vote none of them! I also wouldn't vote for any of them in the general. I'm sick of more of the same.

Santorum isn't necessarily on the verge of dropping out and I think you meant to put Pawlenty instead of Newt.

Anyway, with his announcement today, Perry will become my second choice so he's the one I'm supporting of the "serious" candidates.

The only three I could see winning the nomination are Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and maybe Michele Bachmann. While Ron Paul is not very serious, he is still a lot more serious than Jon Huntsman.

Depends on what I see from Perry in the coming months. I think this is basically a Romney vs. Perry thing now. Pawlenty has completely fizzled out. Bachmann is just too inexperienced. Gingrich is a has been and a loose cannon.

I'm not sure why Huntsman is on here, he has no base and his failed to make an entrance he needed at the debate

What makes those candidates serious and not others?

Certainly not polls seeing how Huntsman polls about one seventh of the "unserious" Paul in the latest Gallup national poll and one fourth of Cain in the latest Rasmussen.  And Paul polls much closer to Obama in a head to head matchup than Huntsman.

Mitt Romney, though I think it's extremely unfair that Paul isn't included in this list.

Bachmann
Paul
and in a distant third, Perry

I would vote 3rd party or sit it out if Huntsman won the nomination.

Romney, though it's particularly unenthusiastic suppport. My opinion doesn't matter much since the Ohio primary is well after this will be over, but Romney for what it's worth. I plan to support any of the names listed in the general election.

None at at the moment. John Huntsman may be serious but he is not a contender, Bachmann scares the hell out of me, I would never vote for Romney under any circumstances, so that leaves just Newt and Perry. I am waiting to see how "national" Perry is different from gov. Perry, so I suppose out of them Newt is the "best" for me...

Troll poll.

I support Johnson, Huntsman, and Paul, in that order.  Pick the "serious" one in whichever arbitrary manner you choose.
