Ohio is a weird state. They realize that their senators are literally the opposite right? And yet they're giving both of them easy margins of victory?

We're just a smaller example of the American electorate at large. Confused, cripplingly uninformed, large percentages of us susceptible to wild swings back and forth based on media cycles, and we repeatedly contradict ourselves.

Mandel leads the primary, unless that football guy gets in.

The only Republican candidate listed here with any kind of chance is Josh Mandel unless the Democratic Party has an epic 2010-style collapse. Jordan may poll better but I don't get why Ohio would want to replace one extremist with the opposite. No one's heard of Kevin Coughlin and I don't see how he would have a statewide appeal. Ohio is not going to elect Jim Tressel to the Senate. Sorry, that's not going to happen. Mandel may get criticism for being an opportunist but few people are going to actually make up their mind on that. Unless some future even changes things, the Republicans will nominate Mandel. The general election polls will tighten once the actual campaign starts, but as of now it seems like Brown will win re-election by a fairly safe margin.
