I haven't seen one in person because I don't go to many concerts (don't ask me, ask my parents) but I've seen plenty of videos.

That's not a circle pit then. That's just a bunch of people doing the kickboxing style of hardcore dancing, which about 5% of show attendees do and are hated by the other 95%.
