He wouldn't want to face Romney because Romney has an okay chance of victory, and he wouldn't want to face Paul because he has around the same chances as Romney in addition to bringing up uncomfortable topics even if he lost.

My point is that liberals are firmly in control of the Democratic caucus, but, conservatives aren't in the Republican caucus.

A classic example of assuming too much:

So a bunch of racist twats did something that was clearly racist and got offended when they were called out on it? Shocking.

Is it wrong that I'd feel no sympathy for Asians if admissions were specifically made harder for Asians? On average, most of the drive from academics that comes from Asians seems to emanate from helicopter parents and ridiculous standards at predominantly Asian schools. I don't think this would be replicated at adulthood and I don't think it's indicative of real interest in academics.

(before some says "das racist", I'm playing devil's advocate. If we're going to have race based affirmative action for "diversity" and "school character" [dumb, dumb ideas imo], it might make some sense to make admissions for asians harder)

I agree, I felt the same way when I went to a 50% Asian skool. It was telling that many of the kids I encountered were mediocre-to-average but got in because they were heavily coached. My friend even said that "Asians seem so homogenous that if you're friends with one, there is no need to bother with more".  It was cold.

I get it.  If Asians beat you on the test and get in they are "coached."  If you do better on the test than an African American and they get in that's racist.

In other words any scenario where any race other than white is admitted shows the system is clearly racist. Nice.

Man it's so hard to be a white male in America.

Roll Eyes

Typical liberals. Racism is fine as long as it is directed against whites.

I don't know who that is either way.

The phrase "blubbed" refers to Van Der Blubb actually imitating the member. For example, Phil has been "blubbed."

Context needed

He was too liberal to be elected President, either then or now.

Why was he too liberal to be elected President, then or now? America was a much more Liberal country in the 1950s-1970s than it is now.

I'm not really sure where this goes, so I'll just put it here:

Lulz... teens on the internet discussing issues that matter.

Little smarmy know-it-alls who think that because a state barely goes to Obama in one election in 40 years, that it suddenly becomes a massive blue state.

OH NOEZ!!!! VIRGINIA IS LIBERALZ NOW!!!! WHICH IS WHY "OH NOEZ THEZIZ!!!!!" worked so well for Creigh Deeds.

What this all boils down to is wishful thinking. Teenage kids, most of whom are too young to vote, think that they have all the answers because their messiah told them so.

My father has decided he is supporting Herman Cain for the Republican Nomination. It's becoming beyond just a tea party thing....it's becoming real.

The question this Sunday (Oct 2nd) is whether Cain will be the political talk within churches...examples:

ChurchGoerA: Been keeping up on the presidential race, lately?
ChurchGoerB: A little.  But just catch seem to latch on to anyone.
ChurchGoerA: Well, you know what?  I've been starting to pay attention to Herman Cain.
ChurchGoerB: Really?
ChurchGoerA: Yeah, check him out.  I think you'll like what you hear.

Pastor [to congregation]:  I don't have much hope for this country.  This country is in moral and financial decay.  America has become a debtor nation owned by China.  If we don't elect someone with some moral common sense, someone like Herman Cain...

The Bible does not say to execute converts from Christianity.

Well, let's see what the Bible actually says about apostates...

Deuteronomy 13:6-9, King James Version (KJV)

 6 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;

 7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;

8 Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:

9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

Well, I'm talking late Spring 2012 time frame....when his approvals are in the low 30's and  reading the business page turns Obama's face a couple of shades lighter.

Something tells me Obama isn't going to be very gracious as he stares defeat in the face, he may even cut into a couple of crackers by dropping the race card here and there.

This belongs in more of a self-parody goldmine or whatever but I guess this is closest:

Christmas Carols, because it's that time of year again!

agreed, this is a non-starter....Cain has to win over the women of the GOP.  If he does that, nothing is going to stop him.

Near the bottom of my list of presidents for both foreign and domestic policy.

Don't like the blacks eh?
Oh please..Johnson was three times as racist at Nixon, Ford, Carter, or Reagan. He could Jefferson a run for his money.

Regarding Jobs, this brings up an interesting subject--if he was not sick, do you all think he would have been at least considered as a primary challenge to Obama? He had an amazing talent for business, and inovation, and was much to the left of most CEOs. He had alot of talent, and will be missed Sad
