I hope you're ready for another witty retort from him...something along the lines of "shut up" probably.  Maybe you'll get lucky and he'll reach deep into his Insults for Dummies book and pull out a "yo mama".

So the two people who most emphasized on using this thread only to quote posts have just engaged into a flame war in the exact same thread ? LOL

I wasn't emphasizing that... I could care less whether people only quote posts or not. Tongue

I went through and cleared out the clutter at Dale's request in the other thread, but apparently as I did that, he locked it and unlocked this one.  So, I've deleted the old thread.  Let the deluge begin...

EDIT: Also, as I said in my disclaimer in the old new thread, which is no longer in existence: I'm not going to police this thread to make sure that people are only posting bad posts, and not turning into back-and-forth discussions.  So, you're on the honor system.
So, does that make this thread the new new thread which is also the old old thread?

Far right on economic issues, doesn't care so much about social issues, so he goes with whatever is politically convenient at the time there.

This.

Clinton infuriated conservatives with his politically-calculated triangulation on economic issues. Romney is going to infuriate liberals with his politically-calculated triangulation on social issues. You liberals won't know what to do when President Romney co-opts your popular social positions/rhetoric. Meanwhile, Romney is going to deliver the goods on the economic and international fronts.

Obama. With an 'economy good' media narrative, moderates will stick with the more charismatic candidate, and Romney's image probably won't appeal that much to the working class voters who aren't feeling so good about the economy.

And if the election became close, voter fraud and inner city minority manipulation trumps honest voting. The DNC machine is an unbeatable monster.

An unironic defense of John Derbyshire's column...

Since Derbyshire actually wrote,

"You should consciously seek opportunities to make friends with IWSBs[intelligent and well-socialized blacks],"

we are safe in assuming your strawman about Derbyshire advocating Whites not meet Blacks is well-stuffed with straw.

Pennsylvania firing someone is not the same as Massachusetts firing someone. Massachusetts is a socialist/liberal social engineer state. So Romney not be able to win re-election is kind of a plus for him, it shows he governed as a conservative.

First of all, 50 percent of people are prolife. Having two pro abortion candidates divides 25 percent of the pro abortion support between them, and that's if you're lucky. The reality is that 99 percent of the pro abortion support is already in Obama's camp.

What world do you live in where adopting democrat positions delivers increased GOP support? That's not happening with Mitt. We aren't seeing the North sweep over with a realigning tide. No, quite the opposite.

We see Obama getting even stronger, and I already explained why that was. Given the choice between socialism light and real socialism, people go for the real thing, every time.

Unfortunately, the 14th (privileges and immunities clause) states clearly that citizenship issues are a part of the enumerated federal government powers. A state can't treat the unborn as a person for the purposes of the state - this is also why Dred Scott got crushed.

You no longer have that path, and haven't had that path since the civil war, since that's what happened the last time states got to decide who were citizens and who were not.

But it's not their call. Reynolds preserves that with the immigration restrictions granted under the Articles of Confederation. The federal government has the power to preserve marriage laws and regulations throughout the US, and as Reynolds says, it has the power to preserve the common law definition of marriage as one man and one woman.

I'm not sure why you recognise that your policies are flawed. They will not work. Gay marriage in one part of the country will result in gay marriage being imposed on the entire country. That is what happened in Canada, and that is how it will happen in the US, and why your policy will trigger secession. Once again.

The point is that marriage laws are the province of the federal government, not the states. That's the way the constitution works. Paul is very wrong on this, which is rather surprising for a candidate who is pushing for constitutional governance.

I'll regroup and reload if Romney loses. He'll only be 69 in 2016, younger than McCain or Reagan was. It's certainly possible.

The 2000 election was where Texas Gov. George Bush defeated Vice President Al Gore. Bush lead Gore going as far back as polls in 1997. The fact that Gore even came as close as he did was a miracle on his part.

He was making the point that Gore won the election, because he did. He was chosen by the people to be President of the United States. But because a vote in Texas or Florida counts more as long as it's a winning vote, Bush won.

Yeah, the President of Finland is decided by the popular vote, and Al Gore won the popular vote. Oh wait...this is America...not Finland...I guess that means you should zip it!

The best part of course being the poster being replied to is not really from Finland.

Anybody who's doubting that CO is now effectively a blue state is living in 2004. The Republican Party isn't the same party as it was 8, hell, even 4 years ago. CO Republicanism by and large does not mesh well with Alabama Republicanism, which is effectively running the ideology of the Republican Party at this point. Obama's campaign forever changed the landscape in places like CO by registering tens of thousands of Latino voters that will forever be engaged in the political process and will (at least in political terms) forever be aligned against the Republican Party.

In their quest to "find a true conservative", "champion 'true' conservative values" and the like, I don't think many hardline conservatives have taken the time to look back and see how many people they've either thrown off the train or have jumped off voluntarily.
And you have to question how many of those votes are fraud, and most likely the Democrat party wants to court as many illegal votes as possible to keep CO in the blue column as long as possible in future election.  I don't buy it one bit, you people make me sick to my stomach.

This has nothing to do with Mitt. I'm saying that the cause is lost, you can't even argue against gay marriage anymore without being called a bigot. According to Gallup, 53% of the country now favors gay marriage, and the younger the voters are, the more liberal they are on the issue.

Personally, I'd rather the conservative movement focus on opposing gay adoptions, but stunningly, people seem even less opposed to that than gay marriage.

Why should two people of the same gender be denied the right to raise a child just because of their sexual orientation? Plus Republicans should be supporting gay adoption. If the party is pro-family, it should be promoting more people having and raising children.

'Sexual orientation' is an absurd term. There is normal sexuality, and abnormal sexuality. Normal "Heterosexual" sexuality is of course the only way to pro-create, virtually all science shows that pro-creation is the only natural point of sexual attraction. This is true whether you choose to pro-create or not. The want and desire to have sex does have a natural purpose. It is not a racial, white and black thing.

Abnormal sexuality includes everything from Homosexuality to Pedophilia. While there is obviously a huge gap in what is socially/morally acceptable, I do not differenciate between the abnormal types biologically. They all have no natural purpose, and therefore are obviously the bi-product of some biological problem. I cannot support putting children into an enviroment with potentially mentally unhealthy people. If homosexuals are to have children, I would want them to have to go through a process that shows their sexual attractions are not too off course.

There is nothing wrong with seeing someone, at night, behind buildings, who appears to be a stranger and calling 911.  I'm happy my neighbors watch out for me.

I should do a count one week of how many times a week I'd call 911 if I did this. It would be pretty close to the number of times I walked outside basically.
