ok, it's pretty clear that all of the regulars are somewhat...abnormal...else, we wouldn't be here.  But is it possible to create groups to sort and classify the jelly beans, other than Red and Blue, or would we just end up with an individual class for every individual jelly bean?  e.g. other than his minion(s), does opebo really share a category with anyone?  or what about Naso, Bandit, BRTD, CARL (there's a good example), etc, etc, etc.

or are we all just a bunch of rogue jelly beans massed into a single dung heap?

What, no reply?!

Oh, I get it...the black jelly beans don't know that they're black jelly beans.

You still don't believe it. You still don't believe you're bunch of black jelly beans?

To know yourself is to know God, my friends.

You are a broken machine, jmf.  On another note, I'm glad I didn't head up to Boston and won't get caught up in the inevitable crossfire and police standoff.

I want jmfcst to come to Minneapolis now so I can see how he reacts with a joint.

I went to training in Minneapolis for a week back in '92-'93ish timeframe.  I arrived the day after Halloween and was greeted by 38" of snow on the ground.  Took a walk at 3am in the morning wearing a Tshirt, a blue jean jacket and sweat pants in -9 degree weather (there was no wind so I wasnt that cold).  Decided to walk up a 3 story high snow drift on the side of an highrise office building and fell through the snow....I could have died.  Luckily, as I was falling through, my feet hit the top of a tree and by the time I stopped falling, the snow was at eye level.  Managed to push myself out after 20 minutes and crawled down the snow drift and slinked back to my hotel room.

And I would panic is I got stoned now after being saved and would quickly lose my buzz.

I'm guessing this thread is some 80s movie reference. With Naso and Jmfsct it always is. Maybe they should get together and open the Cafe 80s. Where it's always morning in America. Even in the after no-oon.

it didn't start off as a movie reference, but I had to show the flick to lure them in after getting no replies....and, Mr. Osborne, the movie is from '78, or may I call you Robert?

ok, just for you, we'll make an exception...

Do you want to be represented by the Lemon or Piña Colada shade of yellow?

Simple. Black ones in the box, others in the trash. It's called "permabanning".

migrated:

I was watching a tour of the Jelly Belly factory on the discovery channel a couple of years ago and learned that there are all these experimental boutique flavors that never make it to the mass market, but that you can buy small quantities of if you can afford it.  There's a blood-flavored jelly bean, a spicy habanero jelly bean, and even a vomit jelly bean.  That's right, vomit.  How weird is that?
You can buy red hot jelly beans. I might be inclined to taste the blood-flavored ones.

yes, but I've never really liked the red hot ones.  Something cinnamon in them.  But if you had a serrano or jalapeño or habanero one, I think I just might enjoy that.

I favor the tropical flavors mostly.  Mango, banana, and pineapple are the best.

My son seems to like watermelon.

Nothing cinnamon-y in the ones I posted. They're just ridiculously hot (in a vaguely red-peppery way, couldn't tell you what kind), plus that basic jelly taste.
Heh. Better than the "beer-flavored" ones I once had. Those were truly awful.

combination of hops and jelly doesn't entice me either.

fruits combine well with jelly, and not just the tropical ones like mango, but also the fruits of the various chili plants.  I've had jalapeño jams and habanero jellies.  They're not bad.  I'll keep my eye out for the red-hot-chili-pepper version of the Jelly Belly.

Can't vouch for the vomit flavor one either, but I did see it on television.  So it must be true.

We have veered off on a tangent here by discussing different flavors…the premise of the assignment was that we are all discarded black liquorish jelly beans and we were to attempt to describe the differences between the black jelly beans by creating new groupings which transcend political (and even sexual) orientation.

All of you get an F...now you're nothing but a bunch of Rick Perry's

I think we should do a prison experiment instead. Republicans are wardens, Democrats are guards, and Libertarians are prisoners.

OK...instead of sorting the individual posters, how about we sort the sections of society which are best represented by particular posters  (e.g. Religious Right = jmfcst)?

so which sections of soceity would the following posters represent (and feel free to add additional posters to the mix)?

Religious Right = jmfcst
? = Naso
? = BushOK
? = BRTD
OWS = opebo
LCR (are they still around?) = Andrew
lawyers = Tori?
Libertarians = angus

ok, in the last 24 hours I have watched Naso's videos and became a reader of BushOK's HUGE thread...I'm having those fears again of being just another black jelly bean.
