Senators, there is a vote to elect the President Pro Tempore for this session of the Senate.

The declared candidates are Senator bgwah and Senator NCYankee. The vote shall last for five days, or until a majority has been reached.

With a vacancy in the Senate, five votes is sufficient for a majority and bgwah is therefore elected PPT.

As President of the Senate I hereby delegate to PPT bgwah all powers necessary to operate the Senate, on the understanding that I shall continue exercising my authority as President of the Senate jointly with him.

I think it was time for a change in PPT and I think Bgwah is more than capable at doing the job well.

But I do want to say thank you to NCY for doing this for so long.  Maybe we should name a building after you Tongue.

Or maybe if we decide to build a "history of the internet" museum, we'll name the section pertaining to dial-up after you Tongue  How you have the patience for that is beyond me... but when you don't have a choice, you don't have a choice.

I thank the Senator for the words.


Scrolling issues, impromtu Session time-outs while logged in indefinately, pages freezing when posting and not displaying after postage, having to exit the site and relode it after posting to get the posts to appear. It all adds up to about 2 hours a day managing the Senate atleast. On a good connection, it would have been, maybe 30 minutes.

14.99 a month high speed for life locked in.  I wonder how cheap yours must be.  Certainly couldn't imagine wanting to do ANYTHING on here without a high-speed connection.  I take my hat off to you sir Wink
