I've considered this safe ever since Capito passed on free runs at both the open seat and the governor's mansion. It's obvious she's never going to run for statewide office unless she's absolutely convinced it will be a completely safe path for her, and no other Republican could even come close to Manchin.

West Virginia sure likes their DINOs. Tongue Anyways, Capito is probably hoping for Tomblin to win this fall, and then will challenge him for Governor in 2012.

It appears WV didn't get the memo that we're supposed to hate our Congress right now. Go figure.

I guess 2010 was an anomaly of sorts. Hell, it didn't even end up close that year in the final count. The Man-Chin is probably a US Senator for life if he wants to be.

I am very glad to see this poll result. Joe Manchin is one of my favorite Senators and any day of the week I would gladly vote for him; if I lived in West Virginia. It is good to see that state is holding onto their conservative Democratic tradition.

From the moment I saw this guy shoot the cap and trade bill with a rifle I knew he will never lose in WV.
