With the October election fast approaching, I am using the PPT slot for this.

Another Simultaneous Elections Amendment

1) Article I, Section 4, Clause 3 shall be amended to read as follows:
"Regular elections to the Senate shall begin between midnight Eastern Standard Time on the Thursday preceding the penultimate Friday of the month and 0001 Eastern Standard Time on the penultimate Friday itself, and shall conclude exactly 72 hours after beginning, except in the month of December. Regular elections to the Senate in the month of December shall begin between midnight Eastern Standard Time on the Thursday preceding the second Friday of the month and 0001 Eastern Standard Time on the second Friday itself, and shall conclude exactly 72 hours after beginning."
2) Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 shall be amended to read as follows:
Presidential elections shall be held in the months of February, June and October. Elections shall begin between 0000 Eastern Standard Time on the Thursday preceding the penultimate Friday of the election month and 0001 Eastern Standard Time on the penultimate Friday itself, and shall conclude exactly 72 hours after beginning.

Are you not going to include bill status in the topic lines anymore, bgwah?

And here I thought you weren't on board with torturing the innactive Senators. Tongue

It's not technically a bill even, but I thought I'd be consistent. I guess I'll add "Debating" to the title.

Looks like the fatal flaw in the last amendment was fixed. Tongue

Does that mean you'll support it this time?

The original version had a typo that wasn't noticed until it was sent to the regions, which is why most people voted against it.

Yes, unless I am missing something horrible in here. I don't really see the point in moving the election a week earlier in 1/7th of December instances, but it is perhaps the most inoffensive change conceivable. The benefit of passing this amendment cannot be understated.

I'm not sure what you mean regarding December. We already have it in the second weekend (and not second-to-last weekend). This is done to avoid having an election during the Holidays when nobody is here.

It's supposed to be the second weekend. If anything the current Constitution is the mistake.

With no debate in the last 24 hours, I am bringing this to a final vote.

This has enough votes to pass. Senators have 24 hours to change their votes.

The amendment has passed 7-0. It is now presented to the regions.
