Jets are getting some pretty terrible calls. I'd feel kinda bad if it was almost anyone but the loudmouth Jets.

Weekly observations:

1) The Cowboys are actually a pretty good defensive team.  But the game will always rest on Tony Romo's shoulders so long as they can't run the ball.  Still, gotta hand it to Detroit again for hanging in.
2) Nice job, Eagles.  The 49ers this season are just playing conservative ball - and they have the type of defense to do that - just gotta wonder when they play actually good teams whether that's enough (considering Alex Smith and all).
3) The Redskins also have a pretty good defense.  But we still haven't seen them play a good team yet either.
4) Maybe the Titans are good and Matt Hasselbeck is well, back.  I've seen bigger shockers, but I'm starting to believe.  Of course, the Browns are simply not that good.
5) Andy Dalton has actually played quite competently so far and the Bengals defense has looked pretty good.  It takes them out of the Andrew Luck derby though, and I don't see how they get to the playoffs.  Bills have to understand that if you win by the sword (passing game), you die by it too.
6) The Vikings really do know how to blow games.  And why is McNabb still in the league?
7) The Texans should have won by 20, but a win is a win.  That is, unless Andre Johnson is gone for the season (which it doesn't appear so).  They've just got to make sure this doesn't happen when they play a good team.  Meanwhile, as I told about everyone paying attention, the Steelers just aren't very good this year.  Ben isn't going to survive the year at this rate.
Cool The Chargers pull together another unimpressive win.  Yawn, Norv, yawn.
9) Green Bay is simply the best team far and away right now, but their style is such that they could lose a playoff game to a team that can get to the QB.  Much like NE in 2007.
10) As usual, Belicheck has his guys pull it all together after a loss.  The Pats D is still a problem, though.  Meanwhile, the Raiders fall back down to earth.  I still expect Norv to give them a shot at winning the division.
11) The Ravens O looked awful, but the Jets looked worse.  The Jets always seem to pull this stuff for a four-five game stint every season yet make the playoffs, though.  And the Ravens do the same thing, and don't make the playoffs.  Fortunately, this year they don't have to worry about Pittsburgh, I think.

Dallas Cowboys can't win unless they learn to, you know, run the ball when they have a 27-3 lead in the 2nd half.  Those passes should never have happened.

It could be worse.  We could have $100 million invested in Michael Vick with no money left for the rest of the crappy team.

Sam, the Ravens have made the playoffs 4 times in the last 5 seasons. That's more than the Jets.

King, while I am very disappointed at the Cowboys' meltdown yesterday, I don't believe their season is over.  They do need to run the ball more, get Felix Jones involved more, and as I said earlier, they need to learn something very fundamental and very basic.  A professional football game lasts 60 minutes divided into 4 fifteen minute quarters, not 30 or 40 minutes divided however they wish.

It doesn't get any easier after the Week 5 bye as the Patriots await.

I know this is not about the game, but EW weekly and my Fox channel reported this:

The rumor for the Super bowl halftime show is going around, and they are saying Maddona is the favorite. What do you all think?

Does anyone really care about the halftime show?

Yeah, the same idiots that watch for the commercials/non-Football fans.

With the Buccaneers win last night, I managed to salvage an 8-8 week in Pick 'Em and improved to 4-0 in Pick a Winner!  The fly in the ointment is I am 1-3 in Fantasy Football. Sad

It was an "insult" towards those that watch for that reason, not an insult directed at you, for the record.  Tongue

Is it me, or have super bowl commericials gotten progressively suckier since the mid 90s?

You're not alone, despite getting more expensive.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch the day games tomorrow, I'll only be able to catch the first half of the evening games.  However, I do subscribe to NFL Rewind, so I can watch any game whenever I want after it airs, so I can spend a lot of time Tuesday night, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday watching the games.

Al Davis has died. I'll reserve comment for a later date.

You've got to be impressed with the way Vick gives away the football.  Also, what gives with the Giants - Jekyll and Hyde team, and they're lucky to be in the game.

Good thing they gave him that fat pay check.

Jets/Lions Romo can show up every week and I'd still take him over Vick and that $100 mil salary.

Vick is playing pretty badly, this defense is so piss poor that the eagles are even more hevaily slanted towards passing on offense.

Eric Mangini would be a better coordinator than the joke we have now.

I simply put on the Eagles for background noise now. So sad.

You are aware Vick's only going to get about 4/10 of that $100 million, right?
