The NFC East is so fail this year.  It wouldn't surprise me if the Dream Team somehow got in at 8-8.

Well, the Chiefs:
A.are not as bad as their record indicates

actually, they're probably worse.  they've been outscored by 127 points in the aggregate, 4th-worst in the NFL, and DVOA has them 17% below the average NFL team, on par with the Browns.

Any team losing to the Chiefs can lose any game. Period.

Losing to clearly inferior teams is an ever-present threat in this game, or really any professional sport. Just look at the Ravens, whose four losses have all come from teams without winning records. With that said, the Packers have a very strong advantage in the NFC Championship game.

I'm making a prediction, not regurgitating what we already know: that the Green Bay Packers have a great chance of going to and winning the Super Bowl. Fortunately, the unexpected is what makes the NFL great. The Packers weren't "supposed" to make it last year but they did. The Jets weren't "supposed" to make back to back AFC Championships but what we did. I've predicted a reversal in current trends, with the season closing by successes from defensively driven teams as opposed to those who put up massive points on offense.

That would be pretty awesome. I'm not a fan of the more offense-oriented game of today, since teams like the Packers strike me as sort of one-dimensional. A Super Bowl between two defensive powerhouses would be an interesting "take that" at the people that want to see explosive offense.

I can't believe I've allowed this to happen but I'm actually very excited for the Eagles game tonight. And while I know all of this hype about one of the most improbable playoff runs is going to blow up in our face, I'm going to enjoy every last bit of it for as long as it lasts.

The glimmer of hope is extinguished. I do hope the Giants win the division though.

It will come down to the showdown in the Meadowlands next week regardless of what the Cowboys do tonight.  Naturally, I'm hoping for a New Year's Day victory over the G-men so we can go home and host Atlanta on wild card weekend.

Hunter lacks the talent to start and they can't seem to get it together on the line in big games. It is as if they can't take the pressure at all.

certainly is a step back from Woody and Faneca in '09.  getting into passing situations today played exactly into the NYG's strength

As much as tonight's Eagles/Cowboys game doesn't matter, I would still like to see the Cowboys leave with a win.  It's going to be tough since Tony Romo is out and Stephen McGee is under center right now, but I see a huge difference in winning the division with a 10-6 record versus a 9-7 record.  I know it's only one game and the end result is the same, but to me there is a big mental advantage of being 10-6 over 9-7.

Here's asking Santa for a competent offense for next year.

The Chargers are probably just asking for some points right now.  They find themselves trailing 24-0 to the Detroit Lions at Halftime.  This is a perfect opportunity for the Chargers to take advantage of with the Broncos getting blown out by the Bills.  SD could move into a 3-way tie for first place in the AFC West with a win.  However, they seem to be squandering that golden opportunity.

Well the Chargers can lose for all I care. I'd love to see both Bay Area teams return to the playoffs this year rather than just one. It's the Niners' "offense" that is bothering me.

I can't believe they actually tried to run it in. Guess Seattle really did not want that touchdown.

I don't really like their style but you gotta give it to the Lions. Congrats on making the post-season two years after not winning a game.
