February 1
Iowa Democratic Caucus
Clinton 49%
Sanders 48%
O’Malley 3%

Iowa Republican Caucus
Trump 30%
Cruz 21%
Huckabee 12%
Rubio 9%
Paul 7%
Carson 6%
Bush 5%
Christie 3%
Fiorinia 3%
Kasich 2%
Santorum 2%

Huckabee makes a surprise surge as Cruz's support collapse; if the caucus had been held a week later, perhaps Huckabee could have won it. Santorum is the only Republican candidate to drop out, as the other candidates look ahead to challenge Trump in New Hampshire and South Carolina. On the Democratic side, many Sanders supporters claim they actually won the election, but delegate selection rules penalized them for having their supporters geographically concentrated. This claim is not advanced by the Sanders campaign itself and is dismissed by the mainstream media.

2/6 Republican Debate: Huckabee returns to the main stage, fails to impress.

February 9
New Hampshire Democratic Primary

Sanders 60%
Clinton 39%
O’Malley 1%

New Hampshire Republican Primary
Trump 24%
Kasich 19%
Bush 12%
Christie 11%
Paul 9%
Huckabee 8%
Rubio 8%
Cruz 6%
Fiorina 2%
Carson 1%

Kasich manages a respectable second place, but fails to consolidate enough establishment support to defeat Trump. Fiorina drops out after two dismal showings. Sanders posts an unexpectedly large win in New Hampshire. O’Malley suspends his campaign after obtaining only 1%.

2/15 NEWSFLASH: Multiple Justice Department officials prepared to resign if White House continues to block Clinton indictment, say sources

February 20
Nevada Democratic Caucus

Clinton 46%
Sanders 43%
O’Malley 11%

South Carolina Republican Primary
Trump 29%
Huckabee 14%
Rubio 13%
Bush 12%
Kasich 11%
Cruz 8%
Paul 6%
Carson 5%
Christie 2%

Clinton wins Nevada despite the indictment speculation, but O’Malley posts his biggest results of the primary season. On the Republican side, Trump scores another clear victory as the field still struggles to solidify. Carson drops out after another poor showing among speculation that his campaign has run out of money.
