http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2011/09/warren-takes-lead-on-brown.html

Elizabeth Warren 46%
Scott Brown 44%

Brown's approvals are at 44-45. We have a race.

But I thought Warren was a bureaucrat who wouldn't even come close to charismatic Mr. Cosmopolitan.

It's worth noting that 1) this poll actually has fewer Democrats sampled than PPP's last poll which had Warren down by 15 and 2) Brown leads all the other Democrats by good margins which are pretty much unchanged from the last poll; if it was a fluke pro-Dem sample then all the Dems would have made progress against Brown.

Oh man, if Warren can win this, Coakley losing was definitely worth it. How much more of a liberal hero would she be if she takes down Scott Brown?

Why do you have Massachusetts at Lean R?

Because literally every sign shows MA being at least Lean R?

Feeling dumb?

No. PPP always does this just like Rasmussen. Brown will win, unfortunately.

Feeling dumb?

Wouldn't it be good for republicans if a weaker democrat upset Warren in the dem primary.

LOL let's try to stay within possible scenarios now.

It would also be good for Republicans if Elizabeth Warren was revealed to eat raw puppy meat for dinner.

Brown is getting slightly skittish over this poll.

http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/09/tpm-tipster-scott-brown-feeling-the-heat-from-new-poll.php

“Just walked passed Senator Brown’s office and in the hallway was the man himself, lamenting into his cell phone, ‘I don’t understand how she can be down 20 points one week and is now up 2. What is going on?’”

Wasn't PPP the first pollster to pick up on Brown's surge? Hmmm. I assume if Warren pulls this off she'll instantly become the successor to Russ Feingold as liberal icon du jour.

If by suddenly  you mean after a steady decline from the beginning of the year, then I totally agree with you.

I'd like to see other (nonpartisan) polling confirm this before making assumptions.  If other polls show Warren ahead or at least close behind, we can gather that her listening tour and rollout worked precisely as she wanted it to.

Defeating Brown will be a challenge, but it is certainly doable.  Particularly as this election is occurring in a Presidential year he will have a difficult balancing act in MA.

She already is a liberal icon.  The people who gave Barack Obama the keynote speech in 2004 are the same people who are propping up Elizabeth Warren.  Come on, some career bureaucrat?  She doesn't deserve all this adoration from my fellow liberals.  She is a bitter old shrew who just wants to cause as much pain and suffering to other people as possible.
