It depends on the state. For instance, I'd rather be a senator for Wyoming than the gov. The executive authority of a governor also varies state by state so that would have to be taken into account. Personally, I would rather be in DC than stuck in Albany.

The only thing more badass than being a Senator is being POTUS (and possibly VP). With that said, being a Governor is better experience for a future POTUS than just being a Senator. Executive experience is probably a must-have, especially when you consider Obama's struggles. Then again, Lincoln and JFK effectively managed the transition from Senate to POTUS, although JFK struggled early on...but those were very different eras.
