Ex Governor Claude Kirk died today, Allen West broke the news to me and about 100 other people at a townhall. I met Kirk once at a local Republican Club event. Kirk described himself eloquently as a "one tree shaking son of a bit*h"

He was a very colorful politician. RIP.

Like most of the Florida's Governors, he almost made a national career, being seriously considered for Nixon's running-mate in 1968.
