Reuters - Huckabee looks again at Republican presidential bid

Quote

Though it's easy to make this observation in retrospect, Perry's run was always opportunistic rather than the product of any long-held plan or ambition, and I'm surprised that the anti-Romney faction wasn't more conscious of this and the increased level of risk involved.

Are Republicans really this panicked that at the prospect of nominating Romney? If Thune, Daniels, Huckabee, J. Bush or any other candidate who might actually win the nomination were in the race, would they be satisfied withe any of them?

Weren't conservatives dissatisfied with Huckabee last time?

Huckabee was the social conservative candidate in 2008 since many social conservatives had never cared for some of the positions of candidates such as Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and Mitt Romney. Club for Growth conservatives despise Huckabee for his comments about  the organization and his fiscal record in his term as governor of Arkansas.

We might have to turn to him if Christie passes on running. If Christie gets in, Huckabee can forget about it.

Isn't Huckabee the original "in-state tuition for illegal immigrants" guy?

Edit: I had actually been wondering a few days ago why he wasn't considering it...generally conservative, popular, charismatic, high name recognition, he's now picked up a few more paychecks from Fox.

I think it would be amusing to see a Republican field with 17 people in it...and still no one who satisfies conservatives.

Huckabee is the only candidate I can really see coming back from such a late start to a victory over Romney.

That would kill him in this cycle.

Yeah. All of Huck's anti-immigration bigotry is just blatant racism... Oh wait.

Although he's conservative I really like watching him debate.  He really cleaned house in the 2008 debates, although I think it is too late for him to enter the VP slot has his name all over it
