I voted for the third party option, because I believe something even that far back will allow more wiggle room and creativity, and didn't feel sure voting for parliament without knowing more details.

It'd be even more interesting if he didn't win in 1994. One term Governors for President are always interesting, especially if they win (see Einzige's "Make Our Day: The Eastwood Presidency" and Historico's "Out of the Blue: A Ronald Reagan in '68 tl").

Keep in mind that those TL's started out in 1980 and 1968 respectively; back then, one-term governors and representatives could run. Now, that's kind of hard.
