It wasn't biased. A democrat and republican wrote it up. It's supposed to be simple.

Whats scary is my wife has been converted to being a Clinton voter to a Bush voter and she now scores a 35. Yes, I am not a right wing nut as CTGuy likes to think I am.

I've tried to match up UK political figures to the scale, bearing in mind our system is more to the left. Please feel free to disagree with my choices, as it isn't easy!

0- Robin Cook- Former Cabinet member who resigned over Iraq

5- Charles Kennedy (notice the name!)- Liberal Democrat leader

10- Gordon Brown- Chancellor

15- Tony Blair- Prime Minister

20- David Blunkett- Home Secretary (Law and Order), probably former Tory heavyweights Michael Portillo and Ken Clarke

25- Oliver Letwin- Shadow Chancellor (Tory) and former PM John Major

30- Michael Howard- Conservative leader

35- Anne Widdecombe- Former shadow Home Secretary. Scary woman.

40- Margaret Thatcher

Problem is that although Kennedy is a liberal he's not left wing...
Call it translation problems...

You brits, I have no idea who these folks are. lol Except maybe Tony Blair and Margaret Thatcher. I vote Queen Victoria as your best royal head and second would be William the Conquerer. Last on my list would be Oliver Cromwell.

I got a 12, it seems I am more liberal than I thought heh, puts me between the Clintons, does that mean I am Monica Lewinsky? Wink

Between Gordon Brown and Tony Blair, I can live with that, even if I prefer Portillo.

Oliver Cromwell wasn't a King, he was a "Protectorate"

I'd agree with you on Queen Victoria. On thing I hate are people pointing wagging fingers at the British Empire back in the Victorian age- you cant impose modern values like that and everyone was doing it back then. I'm a big fan of Prince Charles rather than Diana and as for Cromwell...well I have a small bust of him on my desk..so I won't comment!

I agree with that statement about people putting modern values on history. Thats my whole argument about people understanding the south and slavery and the whole reason for the war.

Little Know fact #87451

Oliver Cromwell made it legal to be Jewish in England and ended the persecution of the Independents (later Non-Conformists).

Just like the way he took over england. I like the whole dark ages in particular to studay. I'm all for saying the British Empire was great. The world was very stable, in terms of rogue states at that time. Ever since the two world wars the former colonies have for the most part been unable to bring lasting peace to their people.

Well the UK can be please with abolishing slavery a long time before! But I agree to an extent. Slavery was wrong and that was proven with the South's defeat hammered that into them. Nevertheless 'compensation' claims for descendents of slaves are farcical. African states that used to be British are demanding the same thing, running into billions. Irrespective of the fact that their own tinpot dicators messed their country up and we pump resources into those countries through aid each day. And this is coming from a liberal too! Smiley

Ah, for the days when the British Empire spanned 1/3 of the known world! - USA, India, Australia, Canada and so forth. *sigh of reminiscence of the time, even though it was long before he was born*.

The ones that proved them wrong made their fortunes on the slave trade! I find it ironic.
