Does having the former Governor of Massachusetts at the top of the ticket provide any boost for Brown? Or is Massachusetts so solidly Democrat that it has no effect?

Brown is probably better off with Romney at top of the ticket, but ultimately, this is Brown's race to win or lose, not the GOP Presidential candidate.

Much more likely than Romney helping Brown is Romney and Brown together helping down-ticket Republicans hold their newly gained House seats and maybe pick up a few extra.

I don't see Romney helping Brown, other than being boring enough not to engender any opposition get the vote out fever, that would happen with Perry.

I'll just say, I think Republicans running for office just about anywhere in the US should be rooting for Romney to win this nomination, as he'll significantly help Republicans down-ballot more than Cain or Gingrich would, Massachusetts included.
