"The officials said the plot included the assassination of the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States, Adel Al-Jubeir, with a bomb and subsequent bomb attacks on the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, D.C. Bombings of the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Buenos Aires, Argentina, were also discussed, according to the U.S. officials."

Does anyone knows anything else about this? It's the first time I read it.

The same Iranian government that has no qualms gunning down protestors in their own country or has assassinated Iraqi officials, been linked to organized killings of former Iraqi pilots or smuggled arms to be used against American soldiers in Iraq/Afghanistan or years ago helped kidnap Americans or took British sailors hostage?  There are chances that this was rogue elements, but the Iranian intelligence and military have shown themselves more than willing to attempt ambitious operations beyond their borders.  Or I guess you could be like Libertas but I doubt that.

Iran and terrorism is overblown. Its the American and Israeli Empires beating the war drum over a ridicously overblown and impossible plot that is closer to a bad movie then real life. I love this country, Im am far from Pacifist, but we cannot win in Iran if we go in..

It's out of character for Iran to be using a non-Muslim group as a proxy. How were the Mexican cartels involved, exactly?
