The Ohio labor rights question map, by the way, will be very interesting when all the results come in. It seems to diverge from the typical areas of D strength in almost the opposite way from Obama; it's just getting killed in the small southeastern Appalachian counties, in a number of cases by higher margins than in Cuyahoga, Lucas or Franklin.

I'm working on that map, btw, as the counties come in.

Iowa Senate Distric 18 is now fully counted:

55.8% - Liz Mathis (D)
43.5% - Cindy Golding (R)

PPP said 52-46 for Mathis.

Democrats retain control of the Iowa Senate.

This and Pearce are icing on the cake to what is, overall, a pretty great night.

CNN said there is no exact trend for tonight, but I think this is looking to be a very positive night for progressives.

Let's see:

* MS Gov: Republican easily elected, Republican measure fails - it's a wash
* KY Gov: Democrat easily re-elected
* NJ: Democrats hold House & Senate (?)
* VA: Democrats could hold House & Senate (?)
* ME: Republican measure strongly fails
* OH: Unions win, Health Care loses -  it's a wash
* IA: Democrat on track to win, State Senate likely remains Democratic

The Republicans currently hold the House in VA, do they not?

Republicans are basically on the path to having a 2/3rds super-majority in the House of Delegates, for what that's worth.  They've won basically every seat they could.

Very relieved about the Miss. "personhood" amendment not passing. Hopefully this will be a blow to the fringe anti-abortion movement if they can't even win in Mississippi. This bill is far more anti-choice than pro-life.

realistic, if you have time, it would be great to see the Miss. 26 county map.

Pretty good results overall. I may not like referenda, but I'm fairly pleased!

That last precinct came in big for Reeves, with his win and Stanley's win, THE GOP takes the VA SENATE!

It was a fucking tabulation error. Houck was up by 124 votes, now Reeves is up by 166.

For Virginia races, I would also like to suggest the Virginia State Board of Elections website.

The AP has the Democrat ahead though in SD-17 (and with more votes than the VA SOS site).

Weird.

It's now 22,536 Reeves, 22,450 Houck on the SBoE, with all precincts reporting.

The VA website reads differently for Spotslyvania than the AP.  I presume the former is right, but who knows at this point.

That thing of underperforming in SE KY seems to be just in Knott County; Floyd is looking fine for Beashear.

Beshear had over 80% in Floyd last time, for example, with a similar statewide %.

I don't know how much of a factor it was on any patterns or anything but, for the record, Beshear's running mate last time round was from Eastern Kentucky. This time round he's from Louisville.

Does anyone have any links that show the real-time election results for the Mississippi legislature?  Because it seems clear that the Mississippi SOS has no intention of providing it.

Either way the result is so close it is likely going to be a recount before we know
