The power of drawing congressional districts to favor an incumbent.  It is also interesting to see the same margin Obama has against Paul, Perry and Cain

Forgive me if I'm way out of the loop (by Forum standards at least), but does anyone know the latest she could file for reelection to her House seat? Do any of our MN watchers know if the MN GOP establishment has her succession basically set in stone to the point she can't feasibly run at this point?

Heck we won't even have redistricting maps out until the end of February, by which time she should be out of the presidential race for 6 weeks. In theory Bachmann could wait until the June(?) filing deadline for the August primary but practically she probably will have to make a decision by the March Republican party county conventions (don't get me started on Minnesota's screwy way of picking candidates). My guess is after she bombs in her presidential run she ends up on FOX, She likes the limelight to much to go back to being just one of 435.

Last I had read about this, which was somewhere on here, was that other potential candidates have been reluctant to enter a race that could well be a primary against Bachmann if she runs again for her seat.

While I'm sure many in the MN-GOP would like to be rid of Bachmann, she's become a national figure and commands a loyal following, so she'll somehow get reelected, but if she somehow does get the nomination and ends up facing off against Obama in the general, she would probably lose her own CD.

Most Republicans seem to expect her to run again since so few are talking and no one has really declared, unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer has said he might for the seat if she doesn't run again but only then. I haven't heard of any other Republicans talk about it.

Shirt I saw for sale yesterday btw: Was a map of the outline of Minnesota with a heart in the middle. And then below it was written "(Except for Michele Bachmann)". I would've definitely got it if I frequently traveled out of state.
