Why would it be considered trolling? It's almost July. Christmas is right around the corner...

And now, a deep thought by BushKenya - I have often thought that Christmas lovers like myself get jipped every year.  There is 1 month out of the year where it's mostly our music, but 11 months out of the year there is not a peep of our music that is heard and if it is played, we are considered "weird, abnormal, crazy, even psychotic."  Why is that, I wonder?  Why are we considered crazy for practicing our hobby or interests?

Not trying to troll here, but just asking a question.

One month? More like three, and it's damn annoying. Slaving year round for one day, that happens every year, is psychotic.

You're putting words in my mouth.  I was just asking a question and talked nothing about oppression.  I fully understand the effects of the Gregorian Calendar, and was actually trying to be a little comical with the words "deep thought".  I raised the same question on facebook, and was just trying to be a little comical.

Bushie, I've always felt it was somewhat blasphemous to start celebrating Christmas before the proper season, since most of the pomp and circumstance about Christmas in September, October, and November is a commercialize, secularization, and distortion of the holiday. I'm aware many Protestants don't use Advent anymore and lack a clearly defined Christmas season on the calendar, but don't you think all of the lights, decorations, music, and storefront displays in October and November is a bit demeaning of the actual holiday?

To be fair, though, I don't believe there's evidence that suggests Jesus was born exactly on the 25th of December and that the day is just a formally set date for celebrating it.

Not really.  Commercialism has gone too far, yes, but the way I see it, it gives me the opportunity to celebrate it more than just the 5 weeks between Thanksgiving and New Years.  That is exactly why I put my tree up and decorate my house in mid-October and is why I listen to Christmas music starting in the Summer.  In fact, I have a Christmas CD in my car CD player as we speak.  I don't listen to it constantly, and I switch back and forth with KLove Christian Radio, but I do listen to it often.

You're right, in fact, evidence suggests He was born in the Spring.  It doesn't matter the exact date, it just matters that He was indeed born.

I just lost 5 infractions points by getting a 10-pointer (the Kenya story) due to shedding some older posts.

It was brilliant...but also very distasteful. Can't blame the mods.

I don't think it was distasteful. It's not like the post was advocating RomneyKenya be fed to lions. We've had threads before like "guess how the previous poster will die" that are no worse.

Me talking about the Easter Bunny is the same as Jeff being slowly killed and sufficated to death by a lion. Is that what you're telling me?

My apologies for the trashing of his faith. I'm sorry for making fun of my church Jeff, as well as yours. I will stop and ensure that nobody else does what I have. But I will now allow people to write stories on you having a horrific death. Let me know what works for you.

Mods, if you're going to delete something brilliant because of forum rules, at least have the decency to save it on pastebin for us to read with a NSFW tag.

To be honest, I actually got a good chuckle at the Kenya Story.  I can see why it was deleted and infracted and is the reason I didn't post in it, but I honestly took absolutely no offense and saw it as just some witty humor as something I would probably end up doing if given the right (or wrong?) circumstances.  It was just having fun at my expense.  I get that.  I was cool with it, but again I completely agree with the deletion and infraction of it for the precedent it could set.

Good Saturday Morning!  I've had an eventful morning just in the two hours I've been off work.  My rear passenger tire nearly blew, but thankfully, I was able to pull off onto the side of I-40 on the east side of Yukon, west side of Oklahoma City and call AAA to come get me to take me to my parents' 35 miles away in Harrah.  This morning, I am going to just stay up as I am going to the Indian Clinic at 8:00 am this morning.  After I get back to my parents', I'm going to crash at their house for a few hours (at Dad's orders) before I head back home to Midwest City.  Then, tomorrow evening, which is Sunday, 1 July 2012, I'm going up to Broken Arrow (SE suburb of Tulsa) for a Christian Fireworks show, one of the largest displays in the State of Oklahoma.

How did you drive without a car? Isn't that like over 100 miles of driving too, considering that OKC is more sprawly than LA?
