Does anyone have the demographic breakdown for the 1976 and 1980 elections.  What percentage of the African-American vote did Carter receive? In urban areas, Carter didn't do that well, was it because of the African-American vote or did he do badly among urban white voters?

I think percentage of Black voters dropped in 1980, but I'm not sure.

In 1976 Gerald Ford pulled out the highest amount of white collar support of any Republican up to that time.
