48% Obama
40% Romney

51% Obama
38% Gingrich

The poll, taken from December 8 to December 12, was based on telephone interviews of 1,102 adults, 443 of them registered Republicans. The margin of error for all adults is plus or minus 3 percentage points; for Republicans the margin of error is plus or minus 4.7 percentage points.

Maybe Romney isn't as competitive as we once thought...?

EDIT: Okay, nevermind.  Saw the other poll of him trailing Obama by 2.  Still, I'd think he'd do much better during a bad economy.

It's a poll of adults, so that explains the big margins to some extent...

Maybe if Gingrich were defeated in a landslide he would have some common sense unwillingly injected into his head.  "You are no Reagan, you are no Thatcher, you are a Gingrich"

Obama might be ahead, but the margin certainly isn't this big.

That explains it, since the Republicans are pretty childish.
