What bugs me about riding names in Canada is how long some of them can get, often naming three or four communities in the riding as its name. I mean, I get why, but if a riding takes over five seconds to actually just say...

Quebec is a pretty bad offender.

If Northern Ontario loses a riding, I'll be pissed but not surprised.

I was talking to my boyfriend about how dumb some of the riding names in Quebec were, and I used Timmins-James Bay being renamed "Shania Twain" to illustrate it. I still maintain that it would probably be the worst. "The honourable member from Shania Twain"...

but i assume your talking about Pierre Fitch, hes a gay porn star Tongue

... who's as dumb as a bag of nails.

The NDP caucus under Mulcair has been pretty whipped and in line, so maybe it's that, but most likely it's one of the reasons already posted.

I doubt it...the Tory MP for Nipissing-Timiskaming who won by just 18 votes would obviously run in the new riding of Nipissing which is now much more solidly Tory, rather than run against an NDP incumbent from Nickel Belt.

Correct. Remember, the Timiskaming area is fairly NDP (look at it provincially). The new area added to Nipissing (where my cottage is) is very Tory. It is very very WASPy. Probably one of the most Protestant parts of the province.

Yuuup. Well, I'm glad my aunt in New Liskeard till finally get an NDP MP. Tongue She's a big union-type.

Maybe we should swap phone numbers Earl, the NDP seems to love giving me calls.

Why must every French catholic school board have an École Sacré Coeur?
