there might be a webcast on:

www.ninemsn.com.au
www.i7.com.au
www.ten.com.au

if not, you can listen to it on www.mmmsyd.com.au or www.mmmelb.com.au

but its better to watch it; it's on the sydney harbour Smiley

I gave £5 to the Red Cross. If I wasn't broke I would've sent more.

I gave to other charities to see that they do not get forgotten and underfunded as can happen at times like these.

Yes, I always feel sorry for domestic charities at times like this, but at the same time, the fact remains that there is an absolute and immediate crisis in Asia...

I gave $40 to CARE

I feel totally disgusted with my President; it was not until this wednesday that he spoke on TV and announced that Mexico was sending some help and two navy ships. Almost two weeks after the disaster happened! - at least we are sending something now.

Has anybody heard anything from Julien?

This says a lot about Atlasians. In the CNN poll about 14% had donated to the cause. Among Atlasians its 57%.

most generous nation my posterior Cheesy

Australia has the largest governmental donation and 75% of aussies had donated in a channel 9 poll.

A little girl in miami tried to start a lemonade stand but the city wouldn't give her the permit for it. So a local businessman petitioned the state government and they let her set up her stand in capitol building in tallahassee. All the profits are going to the victims of the tidal wave.

So far the government has given 350 million in aid. Private US donations have matched that amount. American flags have been ordered to fly at half staff for one month. How many other nations are flying their flag at half staff in respect for this tragedy? Not many I assume.

Unfortunately not mine (Mexico), and I am really sad because of that. The flag at half mast was a great gesture.

A flag at half mast means a lot less then money at the moment.

Mate, the US has 300 million people, Australia has 20 million, yet our government alone has donated as much as the entire USA.

You can beat us. Please do so-if the government won't, at least try to get some people with some cash that you know to boost the figure.

We held a concert on Saturday night that raised over $15 million dollars. With our musicians and our population, that's amazing. In the US, getting a dollar from 3/4 of the population and with better producers, musicians, etc., then you could raise over $200 million! Even $50 million is a much more appreciated gesture then flags at half mast.

I know I've said it before, but when my mum goes into Sumatra I want her and her team to have enough money to prevent the diseases that might be coming. I want her and her team to be secure, and I want the people of the regions affected not to starve. You can't eat a flag, but a couple of million dollars can feed a city.

It a bit callous to view charity as a contest.

perhaps so, but the fact remains that Australia, with 20 million people, has donated more then the USA with 300 million.

The USA has donated 700 million, 350 from the feds and 350 from private donations. How much is enough?
