*Ron Paul or Rick Santorum win Iowa, Romney still wins the nomination. Paul stays in to the end, and does not endorse anyone, but does not run 3rd party. Either Obama or Romney win, with Johnson taking 5% and maybe winning New Mexico.
*Philip, Duke of Edinburgh dies.
*Al Assad holds in Syria, and the revolt is stamped out.
*Iran will do something stupid, and Israel will react with something even more idiotic, but war does not break out.
*Kim Jong Un takes power with ease in North Korea.
*Global Economy will do equally or slightly less bad as it did this year.
*Former VP Cheney will pass away, with a mixed reaction among Americans. He likely will be remembered as the "Nixon of the 21st century".

I have had some luck.

Santorum won Iowa.
Kim Jong Un has had no major threats to his power.
Iran and Israel have had some issues, most recently the Bulgaria incident, but not much else.
Assad clings to power, though the rebels are still around.
Gary Johnson is polling high.
The global economy still sucks.
