Ahh, yes. The closer the election comes, the more Rasmussen's numbers come in line with the other pollsters.

You know what the real madness is?

Whatever happens, through thick and thin, Romney's Iowa support doesn't change that much. It's almost eerie.

This totally muddled field is his only real winning scenario.

Averaging PPP, Insider Advantage, CNN, and Scotty gets

Romney 21% (Highest: 25%; Lowest: 17%)
Paul 21% (Highest: 24%; Lowest: 17%)
Gingrich 14% (Highest: 17%; Lowest: 13%)
Santorum 14% (Highest: 16%; Lowest: 10%)
Perry 11% (Highest: 13%; Lowest: 10%)
Bachmann 9% (Highest: 12%; Lowest: 5%)

if anyone is curious.  Gingrich is slightly ahead of Santorum before rounding, Romney and Paul are tied exactly.

Looks like Rasmussen has not released it on their site yet.

Where did you find the numbers, Rowan ?

Rasmussens paymasters FOX News - They released the numbers on the hour. guess rowan was watching like me. In the last 32mins fox news has attacked barack obama 5 times, michelle 3 and democratic party 3times. Republicans  - zero.

When I went to RealClearPolitics.com today, I found it pretty amusing what color they are using now for Santorum's trendline in their IA graph: brown

If Sanoturm wins, then of the candidates who competed in Iowa, each will have at one time led the polls there.  Except for Pawlenty, who very obviously would have, and probably would have won the nomination had he stayed in the race.  Also looks Huntsman may have made a mistake by not competing in Iowa.

Only -1 relative to last Rasmussen poll, so that's not what's going on here.

Best possible situation for Mitt: 2 unelectable loonies ahead of Gingrich or, at least, a global draw (i.e. "delete IA results and go directly to NH").
