The most interesting trend I saw in the entrance poll data was that Perry's support was fairly strongly negatively correlated with education levels.

Oh snap!  New entrance poll data puts Santorum at 23%, practically tied with Paul and Romney!

I don't really see any patterns in the precincts that are still out in Story County.  More in Ames than elsewhere, I guess.

"Sigourney Plank Van Buren" likely includes parts of the city of Sigourney and Plank and Van Buren townships.  I suspect it might be a slightly larger precinct for the county.

EDIT: Sigourney seems to be slightly more Romney-friendly, for the county.

Keokuk - Sigourney Plank Van Buren had 38 Republican votes in 2008: 19 Huckabee, 7 Romney, 6 Paul, 3 McCain, 2 Thompson, 1 Giuliani.

Clinton - Clinton W2p2 had 122 Republican votes in 2008: 44 Romney, 31 McCain, 22 Huckabee, 13 Thompson, 8 Paul, 4 Giuliani.

Not looking great for Santorum.

According to the IA GOP precinct-by-precinct results, it was the Clinton county precinct that came in, with the Keokuk precinct still out.

If Cain hadn't still been on the ballot, Santorum would have won.

The ballot is a blank piece of paper that you write the candidates name on. So unless someone magically wrote Cain on people's ballots and had them cross his name off before writing someone else, then he wasn't on the 'ballot' tonight.

No, it depends on the precinct.  Both years I went to the MN caucuses there were ballots with names printed on them, albeit in a way that suggested the ballots were made in Microsoft Word.

I wasn't sure whether I should make a new thread, because I'm not sure whether I'm going to complete the obvious series that could be made, but here's a map of Iowa counties by what place Perry finished in:

Ida County (the random Perry 2nd place county in Western IA) was weird; they had four candidates who essentially tied for second, with 49, 48, 47, and 46 votes apiece.  Perry happened to have the 49.  In Dickinson County, Perry tied for 3rd with Gingrich; hence the green "T".
