Not sure if I should watch Fox News or MSNBC. Maddow's election analysis is usually unbearable to watch.

So, there are 25 delegates tied to tonight and 3 unpledged delegates for a total of 28.  What do you think the breakup of those 25 will be?

Probably pretty even for almost all the candidates since the polling is fluid and delegates are allocated by PR. BTW BushOklahoma, when did you become a Romney supporter?

I like how the entrance poll for the Iowa Republican caucus asks, "Are you white or black?"

Not surprising. It's not a diverse state.

Early Birds:

25-26% Paul
23-24% Romney
18-19% Santorum
13% Gingrich
10% Perry
6-7% Bachmann
1% Huntsman
2-3% Others

Others are doing better than Huntsman?

Guys, only olds show up on time to an event.  The fashionably late crowd won't be for Romney.

You're right. Fashionably late people vote for Santorum.

CNN updated their entrance poll:

24% Paul
23.5% Romney
18-19% Santorum
13% Gingrich

So basically it's not good news for Paul.

Perhaps Bachmann could swing late voters to her camp?

Fox is saying that Perry is directly appealing to voters at caucus sites. I'm not sure if this is a smart move or not. Perhaps we'll soon find out.

Ouch. Romney's leading in Black Hawk county. That's got to hurt for Bachmann that she can't win her home county.

I wonder how this will shake out for Romney, assuming his position holds. He's in a really close third, but it's still third.

He said he would be fine with it on MSNBC. I think he would do well enough that he would still be in a good position for New Hampshire.

... and now Romney in the lead Sad

All within 100 votes of each other.

It's not as if he would seal the deal tonight if he won. There's still plenty of fun before the primaries are over.

How are the Democratic caucus's going?

Some guy named Obama swept it and will get all the delegates.

No one has written in Hillary or Feingold in protest?

Talk on Fox is that Santorum can use Top 3 Iowa performance to win the nom.....
Santorum isn't even as strong as Huckabee was 4 years ago, and look how Huckabee turned out.

People who hate Romney hate him more than anybody hated McCain.

That's where you're wrong. No Republican is more hated than John McCain by the base.

As of when?

He always has been. Bring up his name with Republican voters and they will share disgust of him. Romney isn't hated, he just isn't enthusing people, and they are still looking to see if there are other choices. You could make the argument that McCain clinging the nomination so early on was a mistake for Republicans who didn't realize how bad he was as a Conservative and as a candidate.

Huh. I tend not to take the word of somebody who capitalizes 'conservative' as if it were the name of a religion at face value, particularly relative to the visceral disgust for Mitt Romney that I've seen in large amounts from the right even if you haven't.

Sorry I was reading an article on the Tories just now and made a mistake. I'm not sanctifying the word. Tongue
