Featuring Whoopi Goldberg as the girlfriend of a mobster who has to go into witness protection at a convent and Maggie Smith as the Mothe Superior of said convent

It's a musical, but the fun part is watching Whoopi's character adjust to convent life.

Overall a very fun movie

No.
as the girlfriend of a mobster who has to go into witness protection
Nooo.
at a convent and Maggie Smith as the Mother Superior of said convent
Nooooooo!

No, this movie sounds awful. Does Whoopi teach the nuns to have fun? Or to dance? Or to get their grove back? Or to date other priests?

Can barely remember it, but think we watched it in RE at school - which is a fairly damning indictment.

Oddly Whoopi does everything except the dating other priests...

Yeah, assuming he hasn't seen a frame of it in his life, that's a pretty good call, though honestly predictable.

Also, the nuns only barely succeed in re-capturing the stolen grove behind the convent, though they do try hard.

The Sister Act films are a compete guilty pleasure for me. I walk around my house dramatically singing songs from it. The lines are a cheesy indulgence. "SISTER MARY FAKE!!"
