I'm about 45 minutes into this debate and just can't physically take Mitt Romney playing dumb on the contraception question.

People genuinely like this guy? For real?

The Harvard Law grad pretending he's never heard of Griswold is pretty hilarious, yeah.

I agree here and this isn't the first time he is doing this. Sadly it works.

I am happy for you, Phil, but I am sorry: There is no way that your boy is going to win the nomination. Be happy that he's resurrected his career, but do not get delusional about his prospects.

And yes, I genuinely like Teflon Mitt even though I know when he's pulling a fast one. Stephanopoulos tried to trap Mitt, and Mitt found a way out as he always does.

Is it just me or does Mitt remind me of Tricky Dicky?

...but Stephanopoulos did trap him. Mitt never answered the question and spewed out a canned line about repealing Roe, not Griswold, just before they changed the subject. That may not come across as being trapped to a Republican primary electorate, but that is a function of the Republican primary electorate and not of Stephanopoulos or Mitt.

Mitt Romney trying to portray any type of human emotion is pretty painful to watch.

Mittens does not agree with the "privacy" prong of the SCOTUS elaboration upon the Constitution, and neither do I. Indeed, SCOTUS itself been embarrassed by it, and has largely abandoned that doctrine when it comes to a women's right to choose on abortion matters, to something more along the lines of undue burden, and essential liberty, and such. Mittens is well aware of Griswald, a case which was planned and generated by Yale law profs, who actually choreographed the "crime," to test a Connecticut law banning the sale on contraceptives (how times have changed), which was gathering dust, and not enforced.

And there you have it!  Smiley
