Oh my god! Where's my pro-anti-no-by-election shelter?

In "another place" I'm told there is a parish council by-election.

So there will be ballot boxes used in anger next week after all.

I feel completely lost. Is there a by-election or two happening tomorrow?

I'm sorry but how come there so many by-elections each week ? O_o

In France we only have 2 or 3 cantonales or municipales by-elections per month. Is the UK more willing to cancel election results or do UK elected officials tend to die more ? Smiley

Deaths are the most common. There are resignations and what not but it's the whole growing old (or indeed not so old) which does it

It averages out - I think we get about 5 by-elections a week, every week, but sometimes it's a Hell more and sometimes much less. Rarely, if ever, is there a blank week.
