Huntsman could be a tremendous surprise or a huge flop.

McCain didn't break 40% either in any of the initial primary states. It doesn't mean anything. Romney has 38% in a split field. That is pretty good.

This isn't a good result for Gingrich and santorum regardless of Romney's margin of victory. I can't see them winning SC with a result like that.

So will Jon put it all on Florida now? Will he go down there and taught his opponents that he's waiting for them?

I love Huntsman. Too bad he isn't viable.

Well, Hillsborough is only 41% in and Mitt has 43% there so he may touch 40% yet.

I don't know where this leaves us in SC besides Romney winning. Newt was probably in the best position there, but he finished 5th in NH. I suppose Santorum will fight it out with Newt, Perry and others, which will just meddle things further. All Romney needs is 29-30% and he will win it.

Romney got 40% of the vote. How does that hurt him? And what argument do Newt and Rick Santorum have to defeat him after finishing 4th and 5th in NH? It isn't like those were startling finishing that would catapult him to victory.

This race is over. Newt and Rick will not beat Romney in SC barring a scandal breaking. It won't be a blowout, but he will win by 5-10%. Like I said, the upstate evangelicals no longer have the numbers to offset the low country and coastal vote like they once did.
