It's really quite telling (as if that were needed given the obvious) that this little charmer decided to a) give some sort of fascist salute at the start of his trial and b) broke down in tears of admiration at his own propaganda video.

I don't understand why the trial is public in the first place. Doesn't he want to be publicly tried to use it as a soapbox just as Adolf did?

The desire is for a trial as normal as possible. Anyway, his own delusional statements aren't being broadcast.
