The movie was surprisingly good, but that was almost all because of its tone. There's no way an animated show could recreate that. Besides, there doesn't seem to be enough plot potential there to sustain a weekly show.

Yeah I can't see an animated show of it working for the same reason a sequel never would. I have no doubt of course some evil film industry executive pitched the idea of a sequel regardless though...

And as it is, this sounds like some crazy third-rate idea from a network exec. "Hey let's make an animated series based on a movie that became a huge meme seven years ago and hardly anyone cares about anymore!" I mean when's the last time you saw a "Vote for Pedro" shirt?
