Changed title so we can see it's a FL poll.

Good to see though ... Smiley

I think the Alkaline Trio song "Mr. Chainsaw" aptly describes Romney's mood right now.

I pray this gridlock never ends
And when we get there just depends
I found out recently that you are leaving
For good I hope I softly tell my ceiling
It's better now to be alive
Sleeping is my 9 to 5
I'm having nightmares all the time
Of running out of words that rhyme

So, it seems like PPP is the only pollster so far not to find a high-single digit advantage for Gingrich. Interesting.

I will not be voting for Gingrich...not in the primary, and if nominated, most definitely not in the general. I was a reliable Republican, but am now just a registered one for primary purposes. I don't plan on returning until or if the party becomes sane party again.

I hope that my fellow Floridians are better than this!

I'm voting for Gingrich only so Obama has a better shot at winning.

I am undecided in the general as of right now, considering all Republican candidates are pretty awful, Romney being the least. If it's Gingrich/??, then this will be my first time voting Democratic for POTUS. I am planning on voting for Romney in the primary.

What party affiliation are you registered as? And what part of the state do you live in?

I'm registered republican and I live in Tampa.
I haven't voted yet, but I'll probably vote this week.

At this point, since most seem to think our economy is improving and will ignore potential future implications, I'm about ready to throw in the towel and let Gingrich win, just so he and the GOP can completely embarasss themselves and realize what happens when these type of idiots are nominated.

there are worse things than losing elections...such as selling your soul and becoming a whore simply to win an election.

Yeah, I think this one is about over. Newt doesn't have the organization and money, but he is simply playing well to the GOP base audience of wackos, religious freaks and loons. He will get destroyed in November but I'm afraid the GOP will want to turn even more rightward which will simply force me to leave the party for good.

Suppose despite our confident expectations, Newt somehow manages to become President?  Nominating someone to teach a party a lesson can be a very dangerous game.  It is not some Atlas election.

You act like the hypothetical presidencies of Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich would be significantly different.

Yes, I do act that way because I believe it. Newt has a very poor temperament to be president, is a terrible manager, has a thin skin, lacks respect for the rule of law, has poor judgment, and thinks he knows a lot more than he in fact does. All in all, mix all of that in a bottle, and it will explode. This is not a game. This is real life.

At the end of the day, both will destroy the economy with unnecessary and draconian austerity packages. How well they manage the Oval Office is completely immaterial.
