I think the POP is the larger Libertarian Party. Don't forget bgwah's Green Party, the ELF!

Where does The Moderate Party stand on abortion and same sex marriage?

I like a lot of your ideas but these two issues are important to me.

From what I can tell, this is how it shakes out:

Far left: Social Democratic Union (name subject to change)
Center left: Liberal Party
Center right: Moderate Party
Far right: Communitarian Party
Libertarian: Individual Freedom Party
Socialist: WSRP
Regional: United Imperial Front

I would not at all characterize our party as far-right. I encourage you to take a look at our platform, Winfield.

You quoted me. The name's Fritz.

Depends how you define far-right, I suppose...at any rate, your party is closest to it.

I was encouraging Winfield to take a look at our party, not calling you Winfield! Tongue

Are we to the right of the Moderate Party? Sure. But while I'd call them centrist, I'd say we're centre-right.

To answer Winfield, we fully support gay rights (I’d be a hypocrite if I personally didn’t) and abortion isn’t something that we would take a stance on; it’s a personal matter (and one of the very few social issues that is) It’s only been recently that it has been politicised again.

As for the Whig-Communitarians, they have emerged from a Pro-Life grouping and have attracted many of the hard right from the RPP; so it stands to reason that it is a right-wing party.

The presidential elections are approaching and both me and Jbrase would be happy about an endorsement from the Moderates. If you do have any questions about our views, we will answer them with pleasure!

Best to be blunt.

The Moderates are going to stick this one out as there are a lot of undecideds out there and people who are not even aware of the dissolution of the old system. There may be a temptation to join one of the largest parties, for support and for traction but I ask anyone who is a European Liberal, whether you know it or not, to join the Moderates. We have no desire to dominate the political landscape but we aim to compliment it. The right wing in Atlasia is increasingly socially conservative. We cannot be sure that the progressive consensus that has existed in Atlasia for six years will remain if we do not fight for it. Settled issues, such as abortion are being brought to the fore. We can do as our name suggests; we can moderate their plans and those of the Liberals and Labor too. However where we can work to achieve compromise we will.

Stand out from the crowd and stand up for yourselves. Make each and every race competitive and make each and every vote count by allowing Atlasia to have a rainbow of parties. Likewise if you are a socialist or a staunch social democrat, join Labor. Make friends and make enemies because that promises you a fight and a good one at that. If you are a new player trust me, it was alot more fun just a few short years ago Smiley It can be again.

Excellent idea.  Love the banner, although since the party is just us two, maybe we could incorporate something that is part of us "being ourselves."  Thus, I respectfully ask that a bottle of beer will be added to the banner.

I suppose this is where I belong if I follow my ideology and want to join a party. I guess, since it is February 1, I am an independent now.

I love the gays Grin I can accomodate abortion but really don't give two hoots on the smallprint as I'm British.

I nominate Afleitch for chair.

I'll run for Vice Chair unless someone else has a strong interest.
