That's one reason but IIRC almost half of the pro-Romney money was spent before the SC primary and that didn't stop Gigrich from surging to a respectable lead.

And it's not as if he is absent from the airwaves like in Iowa. 3,5 mil is a lot of money, even in Florida.

Quinnipiac is very good in some states, but I've always questioned them outside of that area.  Tempered good news for Romney.

It remains to be seen whether Romney will have to keep spending this kind of $ in each state to keep winning, or if the next couple of wins will give him enough momentum nationally that he can coast to victory in the remaining states.  I doubt he can afford this kind of saturation TV advertising in every state.  At some point, the campaigns start running low on money, and you've got to rely on free media.

My hunch is actually that whatever happens in FL, NV, CO, and MN, the momentum will likely have dissipated by the end of February.  So maybe AZ, MI, and WA are actually the important states, as they'll generate momentum going into Super Tuesday.

Mittmentum will come back IMO. If Adelson croaked tomorrow, Gingrich would have to get out shortly thereafter.

Good god, spending $15 million on advertising in one state mostly in the span of a week. The total spending limit for campaign spending in a Canadian federal election is about $20 million. It must be difficult to watch TV in Florida without being deluged by Romney ads...
