Hi guys,

I just want to let you all know I've decided not to run for re-election as Pacific Senator, and I encourage you all to run a candidate for Pacific Senator. Sbane is cool and it's not the end of the world if you don't, but please don't assume it will be a competitive election since I'm not running.

Also, run a candidate for President... Earl is kind of a dick, I can't vote for any ticket with a cat strangler on it, and the other two are right-wingers. NOTA is looking like the best option at the moment. Sad

Thank you for the advice, bgwah. Smiley

If it's acceptable, I would like to change my vote from No to Yes on the first question. I still think Earl should get our endorsement if we decide to not run a candidate.  I know it's going back on what I said earlier, but this is supposed to be a fresh start on Atlasia, so why not have a five-way Presidential race? Bgwah/BK write in? Smiley

I am also increasingly concerned...

Unfortunately I think Bacon King is term-limited. Tongue

So, you guys are all changing your votes because bgwah comes in here and calls me a dick?

Where does this come from? Is this because I wouldn't join the "Jesus Christ Party"... even after persistently pursuing me to do so?  Well, it's one thing to attack my policies, sir, but it is disgraceful to attack my character! Shame on you!

But, it is to be expected. When I first ran for office, over six years ago, I was a political neophyte. I was appalled at the dirty tricks of politics back then. But, I have grown a thick skin over the years and I can take it. Well, I won't personally attack bgwah, because I am above that.

Well, personally, I changed my vote because I realized that competitive elections are fun, and that's the point of this game (for me anyway) is to have fun.  So, there you go. Smiley

The reason my post appeared with me thanking bgwah is because I didn't want to clog up the thread with me over and over again. Smiley

(And if you really must know, I started to think this after Fritz voted to run a ticket of our own.)

I understand the issues Bgwah has with Tmth's past... but they are not my past.

I tried to institute massive increases in the penalties for crimes against animals, and Tmth will be my Vice President and while will provide his opinions to me, he will be an advocate for my agenda.

So any concerns you have about the presence of Tmth on the ticket really are deeply unfounded.

I was talking about you with someone. We agreed that you put up this faux-nice guy persona but at the end of the day you're just kind of a dick. Sorry.

I hope someone wants to run. It would be great if we elected our first senator(s... we might have a shot in Midwest too).

I recommend if you all want a winning ticket to back Duke/AndrewPA. We understand human love, dignity and respect! We also love animals! And we are handsome and like good music and wine! Give us a look if you can't decide on your own! We will pay handsomely for your endorsement!

Me being nice is not fake, bgwah. Sometimes I'm nice! How unbelievably hard to believe, that a human being can be nice sometimes. Sometimes I can be a dick. Sometimes if I have a hard day, and someone says something, I react in a dickish manner. Sure, it happens. Is it okay? No, it's not. And I apologize for being a dick to some people. We're all guilty of saying mean and hurtful things. But, I'm not going to apologize for being human, jeez.

I'm sure you've been a dick too, at times. But, I'm not going to hold that against you.

Really, I don't think the first question should even be voted on.  If we have people who want to run, they should run.  If we don't, it's irrelevant.

Fellow party members,

Today has been quite a hectic day, with multiple calls for both running a ticket and not doing so.  At first, I was convinced that it would not be in our best interest to do so, but as the day wore on, I began to think.  Do I want an Atlasia where the status quo once again takes hold?  The status quo in this game is the same candidates and the same parties, election after election.  My answer was a resounding no.

We have just seen a huge political realignment with all the major parties dissolving.  If we wish to become the party of the future, we must fight for Atlasia today!  Election are not all about winning, but about what is said, and what can come out of them.  I emphatically agree with Fritz:
Really, I don't think the first question should even be voted on.  If we have people who want to run, they should run.  If we don't, it's irrelevant.
Let us run someone from our party who will stand up for the worker, and for those who can not stand up for themselves! I ask you, think about what this election means for Atlasia, think about what you hold dear, and think about what our party stands for.

Please vote yes.

I am running for President.

Somebody's got to run from our party, and besides, let's all have some fun. Smiley

I quite honestly did not see this coming this Morning, afternoon, or one hour ago, but I think it's important enough to do.  I know we're kind of boiled down in this whole endorsement thing right now, but I would like to ask for party solidarity.

So does anyone care to explain if we will split the vote from the socialists by nominating our own candidate? Because our first goal should be preventing the presidency from falling into right wing hands.

Well, the WSRP has three members and we have 15, but besides that, I would just like to say that this is a game about elections, so why should we sit one out? Smiley

I completely respect the rights of every party to put forward a ticket that represents your core values.

However, I ask my fellow progressives and those who want to avoid the presidency falling into the hands of the right wing or extreme libertarians, to consider the lessons of the February 2011 election where the left was divided, petty issues led to vote exhaustion and it cost us an election.

I would also like to point out that in my platform I have:
*stressed that I will protect union rights and crack down on those who would take away the right to collective bargaining
* aim any tax cuts primarily at people who really need them, low and middle income earners
* protecting public education from privatisation

I believe that workers and employers are important in our economy, but we cannot afford the economic principles that would place all the power in the hands of the employers. We cannot pretend that employers are hiring as a public service. In order for their businesses to prosper, they need employers and we all know that happy and secure workers are productive workers.
